Les Forts de Latour Pauillac 2008

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

This superb second wine displays structure, dark color, and rich fruit, though lighter and quicker to mature than the "Grand Vin". It matures 10 to 20 years following the vintage. Same as the first growth Château Latour, the wine is made from parcels of a 116 acre plot called L'Enclos, usually with the younger vines of L'Enclos as well as the land outside its boundaries, called "Comtesse de Lalande", "Petit Batailley", and "Sainte-Anne".

Wine EnthusiastRich and fresh, with firm dark tannins, acidity and true black currant flavor. There is a chewy, chalky texture underlying beautiful fruit.

Wine AdvocateA strong effort, this 2008 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, more minerality than the 2010 and hints of cedarwood, black currants, underbrush and forest floor. This round, generous blend of 66.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33.5% Merlot should easily last for two decades or more.

Wine SpectatorThis is rounded and pure, with red and black currant, black tea, roasted apple wood and sanguine notes all gliding through the supple, focused finish. Not big, but has balance and length. Drink now through 2017. 12,900 cases made.
