From St. Helena's Jumping Goat Vineyard, the 2014 Métisse Jumping Goat is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. This sees about 70% new French oak for 18 months and is a smaller cuvée of just under 400 cases. The wine displays terrific blackberry fruit, some camphor and graphite. It is dense, full-bodied, multidimensional, with beautiful purity and a full-bodied finish with moderately sweet, refined tannins. It should drink well for 20-25 years.

Offering light herb and oak aromas, this is trim and savory on the palate, with dusty herb and dried berry notes at the core, making for an austere, Bordeaux-like expression of restraint. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot. Drink now through 2030. 350 cases made.
