Banshee Mendocino County Rosé 2016

In addition to the biodynamic site where we sourced the Pinot Noir for last year's rosé, we were also able to add beautiful parcels of Barbera, Grenache (including some ancient Grenache Gris) and Syrah. Each of these components added subtle elements to the wine that combined to make a wine that is at once joyous but also complex. The Grenache components added notes of melon and nectarine pit with Pinot Noir adding bright red berries and floral aromatics. Barbera contributed a vibrant acid spine and red plums while Syrah gives a sense of ballast. The wine is a pale rose and peach combination in color and lip smacking as it goes down. It also possesses the depth to pair with everything from the lightest amuse bouche to the main course.
