Product Description

The 2014 Odette Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Stags Leap District is a beautiful wine revealing the unique characteristics and terroir of our Estate vineyard within the Stags Leap District AVA. The aromatics fly out the glass and the flavors linger on the palate with notes of black cherries, ripe raspberries, black currant, violets and crushed rocks all interwoven into this full-bodied and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon. Vibrant acidity adds freshness and compliments the purity of fruit, leading into the long persistent finish.

From the producer's 45-acre estate vineyard in the heart of the appellation, this contains 16% Merlot and small handfuls of the other Bordeaux red varieties. Together, they offer a harmoniously racy, rich and round experience and soft silky tannin. Juicy up-front black and red raspberries linger into lilting spice components, sage and violet. This will age well. Enjoy 2025-2030.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The wine has terrific aromatics of graphite, spring flowers, and some blackberry and blueberry fruit. Full-bodied, elegant, but also substantial and long, this is super-impressive, rich wine can be approached now or cellared for 20 or more years.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is wonderfully fresh and nuanced. Sweet floral and spice notes run through a core of inky dark fruit. Blueberry jam, violet, menthol, spice and a kiss of new French oak are nicely pushed forward. Creamy and layered, the Estate is super-expressive, even in the early going.
