Louis M Martini Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Station Plaza WineSam and I agree this is an amazing wine for the money. We enjoyed it with a gluten free pizza from Ginos - here in Bronxville. It has the power of full bodied cabernet and the finesse that comes with Sonoma, particularity Alexander Valley wines. On the nose is blueberry, blackberry and plumb with a hit of tobacco and mocca. On the pallet it is so sexy and sophisticated that you will not believe it is less than $100 a bottle. You get a little mocca / mint and lushes ripe dark fruit that lingers on your buds for a delightful finish. Kevin Kingston
Wine EnthusiastTones of clove, bay leaf and sage ride over a core of big black fruit in this youthfully tannic wine. An accent of tobacco arises on the midpalate and leads to a robust, lasting peppery finish.
Wine SpectatorOffers a core of steeped black currant and licorice notes, picking up tobacco and minerally details on the sneakily long finish. Needs a touch of cellaring for this to drop its toast. Best from 2020 through 2022. 28,000 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley was aged for 18 months in French and American oak (32% new) and contains 5% Petite Sirah. Deep garnet-purple colored, it leaps boldly forth with cedar and redcurrant scents over a cassis and black raspberry core with hints of bay leaves and lavender. Medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy, it has a lively line and great intensity, finishing with an herbal lift. 14,000 cases produced.
