The 2011 Single Vineyard Serenade was planted on clay soil in 1965. This is the most exuberant and open in the nose today, quite floral with notes of ripe peaches. The palate is full-bodied with glossy tannins, big volume and a dense, velvety texture, very hedonistic and approachable. Great Malbec. Drink 2014-2025.

Ripe, rich and classy, with silky tannins and juicy acidity supporting the spicy dark cherry puree, plum reduction and cassis notes that slowly unwind with an aftertaste of licorice, smoke and hot stone. Drink now through 2021. 150 cases imported.

Alta Vista's single-vineyard series consistently consists of winning wines. This version is compact, with intense aromas of plum and boysenberry along with a whiff of orange peel. The palate is tight with tannins. Flavors of blackberry, toast and licorice finish sturdy and long, with juicy acidity adding length. Drink through 2019.
