Aromas of blackberry, coffee, mocha, chocolate, and fig. Sweet and creamy with good lift to the black raspberry, licorice, and violet flavors. Finishes with tongue-dusting but suave tannins and very nice length. Try with shredded beef, lamb chops with mint jelly, or grilled salmon with sage and tarragon.

Quite a step up from the previous wines, the 2013 Chaman Red Blend has a floral, high-pitched, attractive nose. It's a mixture of 55% Cabernet Franc, 35% Malbec and 10% Petit Verdot from their estate vineyard in La Consulta. The Malbec and Petit Verdot were fermented together. Juicy and glossy, the nose and palate show very good integration of the oak (it matured in used oak barrels for one year) and although young, it is already developing some complexity. There is a vibrant sensation in the palate, a combination of acidity, a fine texture and fine tannins making it showy and accessible but not banal. After the 2012, the 2013 fulfilled its promises. 16,000 bottles produces.
