Chateau Cap de Faugeres Côtes de Castillon 2012
|Appellation||Cotes de Castillon|
|Brand||Chateau Cap de Faugeres|
Wine EnthusiastRipe and fruity, this is a soft wine with attractive red fruits. With balanced acidity, it is round and fresh, with enough tannins to give support. Aged in one- and two-year-old barrels, it is quite ready to drink with a bright, red berry aftertaste. Consultant Michel Rolland works with Silvio Denz, who owns several Saint-Émilion-area properties and is a négociant elsewhere in Europe.
Wine AdvocateAn attractive, elegant dark ruby/purple wine with notes of blackberry, black cherry and a touch of new oak, this 2012 Cap de Faugeres is spicy, medium-bodied, and nicely concentrated, with enticing texture. Drink it over the next 5-10 years.
Wine SpectatorRaspberry coulis and damson plum notes give this a racy, red fruit-edged profile, while hints of singed cedar and tobacco line the slightly taut finish. Drink now. 7,500 cases made.
