Maison Champy Gevrey Chambertin Les Cazetiers 2004
Intensely aromatic nose. Aromas of liquorice and anise with a background of black fruit like prune. It is well-balanced between its tannins, roundness, and lasting acidity. This wine has a very pleasant long finish. The powerful flavours and aromas of this Gevrey-Chambertin calls for a somewhat full-flavoured and elaborate cuisine such as leg of lamb, boeuf bourguignon, civets, coq au vin, game pâtés, eggs in red wine sauce and strong-tasting cheeses other than blue cheeses.
