DuMol Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2008
DuMol
Light green/yellow color. Captivating nose of stone fruits, citrus blossom and fragrant lemongrass. Initially a steely precise palate which then opens and broadens to deep rich fruit and elegant breadth. Great power and focus throughout with touches of nutmeg and clove and a gorgeous inner mouth perfume. Pristine, laser-like acidity brings harmony and detail to the finish. The wine’s component parts are completely integrated and seamless so that neither fruit nor oak nor individual vineyards dominate. A great, great Russian River Chardonnay. Serve no cooler than 55 degrees to ensure full flavor development. Drink between release and 2018.
Wine Advocate
The generic 2008 Chardonnay Russian River (4,500 cases produced compared to 700-1,200 cases of the single vineyard offerings) is a blend of fruit from eight separate vineyards (from some high-class real estate - particularly the Heintz, Ritchie and Dutton sites). Made largely from the old Wente clone, the wine is barrel-fermented and aged 16 months on its lees. It offers lots of tropical fruit, brioche, hazelnut and subtle smoke notes, striking minerality, real opulence, amazing concentration for a generic wine and full body. This delicious Chardonnay should continue to provide pleasure for 3-5 years.

Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

Wines that are still in the barrel and have yet to be bottled. Futures offer the opportunity to invest in a wine before it arrives in our store.

Like futures, pre-arrivals are wines that have not yet arrived on our shelves, however they may or may not be a new release. Pre-arrivals may already be bottled and en route to our store.

Parker, Jr. Initially titled The Baltimore-Washington Wine Advocate the first issue was published in 1978. Accepting no advertising, the newsletter publishes in excess of 7,500 reviews per year, utilizing Parker's rating system that employs a 50-100 point quality scale.
